Paper mode

Test a strategy against real leader trades with a virtual balance before risking anything.

Every copy rule is either paper or live. Paper rules live on the Paper tab and run through the same engine, same sizing, same leader feed, but fills are simulated and nothing is sent to Papertrade. Live rules live on the Copy tab.

  • Each wallet gets a virtual paper account, $1,000 by default. Reset it to any amount from the Copy tab.
  • A paper copy fills at the leader's entry price the moment their open hits the tape.
  • When the leader closes, the copy settles at the leader's exit using Papertrade's real win maths: deadband, impact haircut and the 2% fee. Losses are the raw loss capped at margin.
  • Your copy can bust before the leader does if you used different leverage. The engine watches every price print and liquidates paper copies that cross their own bust price, forfeiting the full margin, exactly like the real thing.
  • Paper mode needs no session key and no funded Papertrade account, only sign-in and the token gate.

What paper mode cannot simulate: payout queue delays, your own latency landing a block later than the leader, and the exact mid at your fill. Treat paper results as an upper bound.
